Kutse Saaremaa Rattasõidule!
Saaremaa Jalgrattaklubi Viiking võistlustel osalemiste ja läbiviimise suvine kalender on olnud äärmiselt tihe. Erinevates vanuseklassides võistlemine ja võidusõitude korraldamine on koondunud peaasjalikult nädalavahetustele ja täites sellega meie vaba aja. Ja pole vist olemas inimest, kelle arvates neid nädalalõppe liiast oleks. Märkamatult näitab ka loodus aeg-ajalt juba oma värvilist palet ning Saaremaa jalgrattaspordis tähistab see juba aastaid sügishooaja algust. Sõitmata on SAAREMAA RATTASÕIT. Seda nii võistlusspordiga tegelejatele kui harrastussõitjatele.
Jalgrattasõit on oma tähendust suurendamas. Näitab see ju rohelise ja energiasäästliku mõtteviisi jaatamist ning annab märku harrastusspordiga tegelemise lembusest.
Tänavapildis on jalgratas väikelinnas pigem reaalsus kui haruldus. Kohalike (linna)elanike kõrval on rattamatkajad ja turistid silmapaistval kohal. N.ö. tavaliste rataste hulgas paeluvad silma tandemid, tõuke-ja trikirattad, kolmerattalised ja elektrimootoril töötavad. Üha enam on populaarsust kogumas “vanad vene naistekad ja meestekad”. Viimased on need unustuste hõlmast välja toodud ning toovad retrohõngu meie teedele-tänavatele. Muuhulgas annab see võimaluse ka neil rattasõpradel oma ajahambast puretud “sõber” välja ajada, kes seni selle kasutuskõlbmatuks peljanud.
Tervisespordisarjas “Liikudes tervemaks” osalejatelgi on seekord põhjus jalgrattad sõiduvalmis seada lisades teiste sarja üritustele vahva ja tempokas rattasõit.
Tava kohaselt sõidame Saaremaa Rattasõidu augustikuu viimasel pühapäeval – 30.augustil kell 12. Stardipaik on sama, mis eelmisel aastal Upal (Leisi ja Kuivastu mnt vahelisel lõigul). Treenitusest sõltuvalt saab suunduda kahele erinevale sõidule. Pikem distants (43 km) kulgeb Upa – Laadjala – Liiva-Putla – Kaali – Masa – Uduvere – Upa. Selle läbimine eeldab soovi võistelda auhinnaliste kohtade pärast ja oma füüsiliste võimete adekvaatset hindamist. Matkajatele on sobiv 19 km pikkune ring Upa – Kaarma- Uduvere – Laadjala – Upa.
Osalejateks ootame kõiki rõõmsameelseid tervislikust eluviisist lugupidavaid inimesi. Alla kümneaastased lapsed saavad rajale minna täiskasvanust saatjaga. Juhime tähelepanu, et rada on üldkasutatava liiklusega teedel avatud. Seetõttu on liikluseeskirjade täitmine kohustuslik ja kiivri kandmine enam kui soovituslik.
