Saaremaa 2009 aasta rattasõidu võistlushooaeg on avatud
Rigo Räim võistlusrajal
Järjekordne rattahooaeg Saaremaal sai traditsiooniliselt avatud 10 km eraldistardist sõiduga Pihtla maanteel, mis oli ühtlasi esimeseks etapiks Viikingi 2009 aasta karikavõistlustele.
Absoluutklassis jäi Saaremaal juba mitmendat hooaega temposõitudes alistamatuks Rigo Räim, kes võitis avaetapi raja rekordit tähistava ajaga 13.37,5 ning läks ühtlasi ka karikavõistluste liidriks. Teise koha saavutas ajaga 14.03,9 Indrek Rannama ja kolmanda ajaga (14.42,3) finišeerus Reimo Nook.
Kuni 16 aastaste noorte hulgas moodustasid esikolmiku Mihkel Räim (15.00,5), Endrik Puntso (15.51,3) ja Kevin Soon (16.12,8) ning kuni 14 aastaste hulgas Steven Kalf (18.14,7), Karl-Patrick Lauk (18.41,4) ja Hans-Olavi Vaher (19.42,0).
Lisaks Rigo poolt uuendatud raja rekordile toimus ka mitmeid isiklike rekordite parandusi ja täiendusi Pihtla maantee 10 km kõigi aegade edetabel.
