Sarnaselt eelnevate aastatega toimub augusti lõpus jõukohane ja tervislik rahvaspordiüritus. Saaremaa Rattasõit sõidetakse pühapäeval, 25. augustil kell 12. Start antakse ratturitele Bivarixi rattapoe juures Pihtla teel.
Osavõtjatena ootab ürituse korraldaja Saaremaa Jalgrattaklubi Viiking näha kõiki elurõõmsaid ja optimistlikke inimesi, kes võtavad vaevaks oma vaimu ja kaherattalised sõbrad sõidukorda seada. Ei sea ju rattasõit soolisi ega erilisi vanuselisi piiranguid, ametist ja positsioonist karjääriredelil rääkimata.
Rattasõidust osalejatel on võimalus vastupidavust ja füüsilisi võimeid arvestades valida kahe erineva distantsi vahel.
Põhidistantsil (45 km) autasustatakse kolme paremat. Matkadistantsil (27 km) kõigile osalejatele diplom.
Registreerimine ja osavõtumaksu tasumine Bivarixi rattapoes. Kuni 23. augustini 30 kr, kooliõpilastele ja pensionäridele 20 kr. 24.- 25. aug. 40 kr, õpilastele ja pensionäridele 25 kr. Alla 10aastased lapsed pääsevad rajale tasuta, kuid täiskasvanust saatjaga.
